From the inception of the internet the English language has been evolving. From AI chatbots to social media slang it's pretty clear to see that the language has been shaped by our devices, smartphones and laptops.
The Great Worldwide English Connection
Millions of people around the world use the English language as their go-to language when they're talking to each other online. This can clearly be seen through social media, chats, games and videos.
As a result new norms are rising up from; memes, abbreviations, humour, creative spelling, acronyms and emojis.
This diversity created within the English language, has come about because of the world's love of technology and the internet.

Yes that's right, when you have AI how much thinking do you really need to do?
I would say very little to not much at all, in the grand scheme of things. Why would you need to go to a dictionary when you ask ChatGPT?
I could go on, but you get the picture.
The Weird World of Social Media and the English Language
Social media is producing new vocabulary through platforms like Instagram, Tik Tok and X (Twitter). The system is simple, new phrases and words are created through digital content and go viral overnight around the world. It really is that fast.
So Where Does That Leave the English Language Today?
One thing is clear, and that is languages evolve and change over time, whether we like it or not. I am hopeful that all of this technology will drive people back to the basics of reading and writing again, and that people all over the world will sample and use these things like they used to be used again.
