Proven Strategies to Improve Your Affiliate Income

It only makes sense that sales come from traffic and for that you need a strategy you can call upon to give you the results you need to make money.

We're going to look at some of the most useful methods affiliate marketers are using today.

1. Do Some Article Marketing

Article marketing is still useful even in today's social media orientated internet landscape.  With a simple strategy and consistent writing you can spread the word far and wide about your business all through the written-word online.

2. Post on Social Media and Your Website Regularly

Providing your audience with a steady supply of blog posts and social media posts is the key to success, and requires lots of hard work.  The more breadcrumbs you have out there the more likely people are to find you and click on your affiliate links.

3. Create a Podcast

People have regular podcasts or videos using platforms such as YouTube, Bitchute or Rumble to get more traffic.  Podcasting and videos are great tools  to tell your readers about current news, trends are whatever is going on your own website.  People love hearing stories from real people, especially about products that really work.

4. Optimise Your Website Loading Speed

Most people will only wait for about 3 seconds before they move on to another website.  Make your website as user friendly as you can by condensing the size of files and media you have.  There are plenty of free website tests you can do to keep a check on your website speed, like Website Grader or Google's Mobile-Friendly Test .

5.  Make Your Meta Content Stand-Out

Meta content is the first information people come across when they're looking for information.  This might include information about a website, or the content found in a blog post.  Your title needs to be no more than about 50 to 60 characters, and the description can be as many as 150 characters long.

6. Check Your Website Regularly for Duplicate Content

It's easy to fall into the duplicate content trap when you're starting a website, particularly when you discover what people enjoy reading.  You can find free tools such as Siteliner that will go through all of your blog posts and tell you what percentage of your posts are very similar.

7.  Catch Your Audience With a Really Great Hook

Writing is a real skill and takes a lot of practice to write great headlines.  But practice makes perfect.  The more you write the better you'll become.

8.  Try Email Marketing

Email marketing has come a long way since the inception of the internet.  You don't have to use an email marketing service like Mailchimp you can try Substack, a new platform with a really easy setup.

9.  Write Evergreen Content

Write blog posts that don't age and only get better with age.  Writing about the upcoming trends is all well and good but you need evergreen content that won't age at all to make your readers keep coming back to click on those affiliate links.

10.   Encourage Your Readers to Comment

Comments can be useful in a number of different ways, not least of which is knowing what's on your audience's mind.  Ask questions and put ideas out there to get people to start talking about your website.

11.  See What People Are Saying About the Product's You're Selling

It's good to know what people's thoughts are about the product's your selling.  Get to know their gripes and learn what you need to know to solve the problem.  This kind of information is invaluable and will encourage website visitors to keep coming back to your site.

12.  Create Useful Visuals for Your Website

You can include visuals on your blog posts with infographics, and most online image creation platforms will have templates you can use to produce as many infographics as you need.

Don't forget to include meta data in the form of a small description and title on every infographic you place on your website.

13.  Make Yourself Relatable to Your Readers

People like to hear real stories, anecdotes, a little bit  of humour, use all of these things to make your website more human and fresh.

14.  Stay Relevant

Being current and up-to-date with all of the latest news in your industry is a vital part of affiliate marketing.  Give people the relevant news and updates that are available.  Try not to be too trendy though, often news stories will pop up and quickly turn into yesterday's news.

15.  Don't Take Yourself Too Seriously

Don't let your work turn into a chore, keep it fresh and fun.  People can always sense when an article is written by a bored writer.  Don't be afraid to push your boundaries, for instance if you feel like you want to start a podcast, try it!  If it isn't you try something else until you find what really works.
