Feel like you have a book in you and don’t know where to start?
Is family, life and work getting in the way?
Let’s take a look at some simple writing tips to get you started:
Writing Time = Sacrifice
If you don’t make the time, you can’t write the book!
If you’re not a full-time writer, you’re probably struggling to make time to write.
Create a space in your daily, even if it's just for 30 minutes, and make that a permanent part of your schedule.
Don’t let anything come between you and your writing time.
Workout how many of these 30 minute slots you can fit into a week.
Then, start writing.
Measure Your Progress
Now that you’ve got a window of opportunity to write, start thinking about how long it’s going to take you to get your book or writing project finished.
Take note how many words you're writing in each writing session.
With that in mind you’ll be able to start setting your end goal of when you want to finish your book or writing project. And then:
- Broadcast Your Goal
- Let your friends and family know about your book writing or writing project
- Make it clear that you're answerable to them if you’re not completing your writing goals
Happy writing!
