Why Quality Matters More Than Quantity When It Comes to Blog Traffic

Creating an attractive website is only half the battle when you start your online business.  You need people to come and see what you've built.

If you're selling something you need customers who are always interested in what you have to say and will come back over and over again.  This means you need to make sure your website is visible on Google and other search engines, and is accessible for your readers.

The Importance of Website Traffic

Success is made through visitors clicking on a website eager to find the information they need.

Which is why quality traffic is more important than the quantity of visitor's received.  Website owners all over the world write regular blog posts in the hope of drawing in an audience.  This is done with regular blog posts and sheer persistence.

The benchmark of any website's success depends on its sales and how many people are being reached online.

How Much Traffic Do You Need to Make a Living Online?

You'll come across hundreds of articles telling you how to attract thousands of page visits a month or year, and they'll all offer a magical formula that they've used to gain their visitor's.

Oh if only it were that simple.

Unfortunately there's no magical formula that will automatically bring you thousands of visitors, and you need to understand that it's the quality of the traffic that's more important than quantity.

Basically you need to get the word out to as many people as you can online, and catch those people that are really interested in what you have to offer.  Once you start doing that you need to be consistent and stick to a schedule.

You could have a situation where you bring in 100,000 people to your website every month and have little to no sales or sign ups.  On the other hand you could have 1,000 monthly visits and 100 sales.

What matters is that you're getting the people that want to know more.

Here are some simple tips to grow your traffic organically, and target the right audience:

1. Cultivate Your SEO

Search engine optimization is the process used to grow traffic organically through search engines such as Google.

As I've mentioned in previous articles, Google collates all of the information and puts them into a huge online library for people to find. The most popular websites appear on the first page of Google search, and that's where everyone wants to be.  Which is why SEO needs constant attention, and shouldn't be overlooked.

2.  Publish Blog Posts Regularly and at the Same Time Every Week

Regularly written blog posts boost your SEO and keep your website relevant and bring in the right kind of visitors to your site.

Always have a list of things to write about, even if it's just short articles.  It's always better to have something at hand than nothing at all.

3. Link to Other Pages Within Your Website

There are lots of ways to allow your reader's access to old blog posts and pages.  You can create an archive page, add links to older posts below your blog posts, or you can create new pages pointing your readers to particular parts of your blog.

How you layout your website is up to you, just remember to give your reader's full access to all of your old posts so that they don't get forgotten about.

4.  Marketing Your Brand

Websites like Buffer allow you to build your business/brand organically, and are an invaluable tool when it comes to online marketing.

Social media is free which means you don't need to spend money on advertising if you do your research.  People have found numerous ways of being creative without spending a penny.  The world's your oyster, carpe diem, and don't give up.
