How to Tailor Your Blogger Blog


I'd like to share some simple tips on how to make your Blogger blog not so Bloggerish.

Start by Adding:

Custom Favicon
  • Go to Layout
  • Then Click Edit on Favicon gadget
  • Browse in your computer to find your Favicon File.
Favicon Generator  .

Custom Header
  • Go to Layout
  • Edit on Header gadget
  • Uncheck "shrink to fit"
  • Browse in your computer for your Header image
  • Check the option "instead of title and description"
  • Then Save




About Me Gadget
  • Go to Layout
  • Edit the About Me gadget
  • Then Remove
Google Friend Connect/Followers Gadget
  • Go to Layout
  • Edit the Followers gadget
  • Then Remove
Blogger Navbar
  • Go to Layout
  • Edit the Navbar gadget
  • Then, Off and Save
Borders from the Menu Bar
  • Go to Template
  • Customise - then Advanced - Accents - then Tabs Border colour
  • Change to white (#FFFFFF) or transparent (change your date and colour to something different)
  • Apply to Blog
Post Share Icons
  • Go to Layout
  • Edit on Blog post gadget
  • Uncheck the show share buttons
  • Then Save
Addtoany Share Buttons 

Disabling Comments on Pages of Blogger
  • Go to Settings
  • Posts and comments
  • You have the option to:
Embed: The default option, appearing on all pages.  Sets the comments below the content.

Full Page: Sets a link below which says "post comments".  Taking visitors to a separate page to make their comments.

Popup window: Takes visitors to a popup window.

Hide: Visitors can't make comments on any pages, but existing comments still appear on page/post.

Enabling or Disabling Comments on Blogger Pages and Posts
  • Go to Blogger dashboard
  • Select pages and posts
  • Go into post or page settings on the right sidebar
  • Click the suitable options
  • Then click done
